The Tampa, FL Captain of the Port is hosting a Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) Workshop. PAWSA process is a disciplined approach to identify major waterway safety hazards, estimate risk levels, evaluate potential mitigation measures, and set the stage for implementation of selected measures to reduce risk. The process involves convening a select group of up to 30 waterway users and stakeholders to represent their communities in the conduct of a two-day structured workshop. This risk assessment process represents a significant part of joint public-private sector planning for mitigating risk in waterways. U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center supports these assessments with professional facilitation and administrative services.
