The scope of operations includes both commercial and recreational fishing activities, with all permitted salmon vessels involved.\n\nDuration and Area of Operations:\n\nEffective 12:01 a.m., April 13, 2026: The ocean salmon recreational fishery between Pigeon Point, CA and the U.S./Mexico border (Monterey management area) is subject to an area-specific harvest guideline of 21,800 Chinook salmon.\nEffective 12:01 a.m., May 1, 2026: The ocean salmon commercial troll fishery from the Oregon/California border to latitude 40.16667° N (California Klamath Management Zone) is closed.\nEffective 12:01 a.m., May 7–8, 2026, and May 14–15, 2026: The ocean salmon commercial troll fishery from Point Arena, CA to Pigeon Point, CA (San Francisco management area) and from Pigeon Point, CA to the U.S./Mexico border (Monterey Management Area) is closed. For open dates and areas south of Point Arena, the harvest limit is 83,000 Chinook. Landing limit of 160 Chinook per vessel per open period, applied across the combined management areas south of Point Arena. Possession limit of 160 Chinook.
