Item: The U.S. GPS program has issued a high HDOP advisory for a very short period on 05 Mar. Please see the advisory for more information.
Item: On January 30th, 2015, the USCG published new rules regarding "Vessel Requirements for Notices of Arrival and Departure (NOAD) and Automatic Identification System (AIS) [USCG-2005-21869]" which expand NOAD and AIS requirements to most commercial vessels operating on or inbound to U.S. navigable waters. For further information on the AIS rules, see our AIS Frequently Asked Question #15.
Item: The 2015 Light Lists have been published and are now available for download from our Light List page. Full updates will be available each week from our Weekly Update page. Lastly, a Summary of Corrections is also available.
Item: You are invited to visit the 21st Century Waterway Feedback Website to share your comments/feedback on the joint agency initiative that will determine user requirements and emerging needs for navigation information and/or services. The USCG, NOAA, and USACE are collaborating in the eNAV environment to promote safety and efficiency on the Marine Transportation System. For more info, please view our 21st Century Waterway Feedback information sheet. Within the sheet, you will find links to the presentations from each agency.

Item: The Air Force GPS Operations Center links reports of GPS user equipment errors to flawed equipment processing of almanac data from PRN-30. Please read the Air Force statement.
Item: In February, the Coast Guard and other USCG approved entities (i.e. U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Marine Exchange of Alaska, NOAA) commenced transmitting AIS Aids to Navigation messages and additional electronic marine safety information via AIS for testing and evaluation. Item: On 01 August, 2013, the USCG terminated its radio guard of the international voice distress, safety and calling frequency 2182 kHz and the international digital selective calling (DSC) distress and safety frequency 2187.5 kHz. Please see the Safety Alert regarding this termination.
